The shores and seas around Skye abound with marine life, whilst the land supports sheep grazed on sweet heather, wild venison and the renowned highland cattle. The finest and freshest produce is readily available and is transformed at the Stein Inn into mouth-watering, home-cooked dishes.
Whether choosing a light lunch or a full three-course evening meal, the emphasis is on good, wholesome food at affordable prices. Evening diners can take advantage of eating in the bar lounges or at a table in the reserved seating area. We do not take reservations for lunch. If weather permits it is also possible to eat alfresco at our picnic tables by the shore.
All meals are freshly prepared to order with a menu that changes daily in accordance with the season’s availability. We believe in using the freshest of local produce Skye and Lochalsh has to offer, when available. We are delighted to have been accredited in Taste of Scotland, VisitScotland’s scheme, which recognises and celebrates businesses who provide locally sourced, quality food and drink. We are also delighted to be supporters of Taste Local food group.

The Isle of Skye and the Highlands have some wonderful fresh produce from our land and seas. We believe in using them not only because of the quality but because it supports the local economy and reduces our food miles and carbon footprint. We are delighted to be working with:
Sconser Scallops Wonderful hand-dived scallops which are grown in an environmentally and ecologically protected way.
Andy Race Fish Merchants The freshest of fish and mussels. They also supply us with our two varieties of smoked salmon, which they unusually use peat to smoke.
Dunvegan fishing boats, which are out in all weathers to bring langoustines, lobsters and crabs to our tables.
Isle of Skye Oysters – Fresh oysters which are grown in Loch Harraport.
Isle of Skye Fresh Produce – supply us with wonderful fresh herbs and leaves.
John M Munro (butchers) Our meat is supplied by Munros, a Highland butcher, which sources most of its meat from the Highlands.
Glendale Salads – wonderful organic, unusual salad leaves.
Letterfinlay Foods – our contact for cheeses from Scotland – Isle of Mull, Clava, Strathdon, Lockerbie, Kintyre, etc.
