For those independent travellers Angus and Teresa also own two traditional stone cottages, offering the opportunity of home from home comfort but being close enough to Stein Inn to allow you to dip in and out of the Inn as you wish.
Auld Mission Cottage
Situated only a short walk from Stein Inn is Auld Mission Cottage. This traditional stone building was formerly a school but has been carefully modernised this century. It sleeps up to 4, with one double and one twin bedded rooms. The cottage offers fantastic views of Lochbay, the Minch and the Western Isles.
All of the amenities one could wish for are available, including in a recently refurbished kitchen – washer/tumble-dryer, microwave, electric cooker, fridge; satellite television, dvd, central heating and wifi; a walk in shower in the recently refurbished bathroom. Linen and towels are provided.
There is no mobile signal in the immediate area but for those who would suffer from withdrawal symptoms there is wifi and satellite tv.
Whilst the property is usually let on a weekly basis shorter term lets will be considered during winter months.
Please go to Auld Mission Cottage for more details.
Auld Orwell Cottage
Auld Orwell Cottage is another traditional stone built cottage again with fantastic views of Lochbay, but a bit further away from Stein Inn.
The cottage sleeps up to 6: 1 king double and 1 twin upstairs sharing a family bathroom. Downstairs there is another bedroom which can be either a super king or a twin bedded room, which has a bathroom with walk in shower adjacent to it, offering accessibility for those with limited mobility.
The communal rooms are on one level with central heating and an open fire. The kitchen has a washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, a gas hob, electric cooker and microwave.
Again the cottage has no mobile signal, but free wifi and satellite tv are provided.
The property is also usually let on a weekly basis, but shorter lets are possible during the winter. Please go to Auld Orwell Cottage for more details.
